Scholarships
A number of privately funded scholarships, fellowships, and awards are offered in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Other awards are available through departments within the College. For more information about CLAS scholarships, students should contact Joseph Tinnel in the dean's office at joseph.tinnel@uconn.edu. Students should contact the departments for more information about departmental awards and scholarships.

The Lt. Paul L. Drotch, USMC, Class of 1957, Memorial Scholars
Five biology students in CLAS received 2008 scholarships from the Lt. Paul L. Drotch, USMC, Class of 1957 Memorial Scholarship Fund that was established by UConn Trustee Peter Drotch in memory of his brother, Lt. Paul L. Drotch. Shown here at the awards ceremony in CLAS are, left to right, Julia Otero, a junior majoring in ecology and evolutionary biology (EEB); Kristina Catanese, a junior in EEB; Peter Drotch, Eric Smolitsky, a senior majoring in biological sciences and psychology, and Chien Lo, a junior majoring in molecular and cell biology and EEB. Also receiving a scholarship was senior Cara McDonald, whose dual major is in biological sciences and political science.
