Jeffrey O.G. Ogbar
Associate Professor of History
Jeffrey O.G. Ogbar joined the Department of History in 1997 and became director of the Institute for African American Studies in 2003. His research focuses on black nationalism and radical social protest, and he has written books on the black power movement and the culture and politics of hip-hop. Currently he is working on a book about the post-World War II history of Atlanta and its emergence as the “capital” of black America.
