Wayne Franklin

Wayne Franklin, director of the American Studies program, is writing the first biography of the American novelist James Fennimore Cooper. The first volume was published in 2007 by Yale University Press. He is interested in how Cooper, a popular storyteller, fit into the cultural and social history of his time.
